Why I did choose this career
Firstly, when I was a child I wanted to be an astronomer because I really loved it when I heard about Galileo Galilei on a school class, I was very small at that moment. Then, I wanted to be an archaeology, but later I thought that to study something more common like Graphic Advertising could be better. Finally, I decided for anthropology at the age of sixteen when I heard about it from my philosophy teacher, I went to my house, searched about Anthropology and I fell in love.
Therefore, when I was focusing on the application process, I only applied for anthropology, but in five differents universitie: first, here in Universidad de Chile, in a second place, Universidad Católica (I hated the idea of apply here, but anyways), and then Universidad Alberto Hurtado, Universidad Austral de Chile and Universidad de Concepción, in that order. To be honest, when I got my score for applying (PSU) it was deficient but I succeeded finally. At the end, I'm here on my second year of Anthropology in Universidad de Chile. Sometimes I had my doubts about continue in this career, but it's the best for me and my future, sadly hahaha.
Until now, my experience in this university has been great, I made a lot of good friends and I love to spend time with them. About semesters and courses... that's other story, hahaha. My career is very interesting and funny sometimes, but also we can't love or be happy with everything. Some semesters are a mess and the stress starts becoming more and more. But at the end of the day, I'm not too unhappy of being here.
In the future, I'll be graduated and I'd love to continue my studies in Mexico or some country with a good field of work for Bioanthropology. Also, in my plans I consider to work on research about the relation between philology and human osteology, or others fields like maternity, parturition, diet, etc.; all of this topics on human remains and bones.
Thanks for reading(me),
kind regards.-
